Hey dude,

Welcome and good luck. You should be using your legs as much as possible today, tomorrow is your big day and you wont be able to use them properly for a long time. Smiley Come over if you want, I'm in the same floor. Room 143.

Cbick, there are four patients now.

hey all will here again..
yeah sorry i didnt really post much about myself...not much of a talker really. but yeah i will let u guys in on my original height and stuff.

BUT FIRST!
i just had my surgery about 11 hrs ago.
and boy, yeah it hurt for sometime after in the intensive care unit...kinda what one of those..."omg what i have i done to myself moments". But feeling much better now that i got wheeled back into my room here at the hospital. they told me that i would only be spending 3 hrs in the intensive care unit but i was there for about 9, fark that!..that really got to me, being alone in that room for soo long. But its cool now, since the doc came i told him id really prefer to go back to my room and here i am.
the reason i had to stay longer was because the pin closest to my left knee was bleeding quite bad...i didnt feel the bleeding until i kinda felt the blood on my privates. they changed the bandages and it stopped bleeding...
the pain, yeah its pretty painful...well maybe more soo extremely uncomfortable...its stopped being so painful at the moment but when the doctor came to show me some stretches i realised if i try to move  my left foot's toes, i get an extreme crampiing feeling on the top of that foot..worries me really..the other leg all good..just that cramp..ouch man..its a biatch! or maybe its a nerve..no idea just feels like the worst cramp if i move my toes.
took a few naps after the surgery..which sucked....i really do like to toss and turn around when i sleep, none of that with these frames..plus i already miss sleeping on my stomach..sigh..freaky bit is when u bump the 2 frames together, i dunno if its just me...but it makes me cringe a little when i accidently knock them together...the funny thing is when the doc came by, he was just knocking my frames together to show me there is no problem with it and not to worry..still its just the thought.
so i guess it begins.

ohhh they have a porn channel in the rooms! haha channel 49

now a lil background, im about 22 years of age, 170cm in height and from the land downunder.
i've had this thing in my head for a good 5 years now...but it was always a decent dream until i came across this forum...then after frequenting the site everyday and reading cbicks and jungles experiences here, i decided to save and come..well its 2008 and here i am with 2 broken tibias.
ive always been on the fairly short side, especially around my friends who are all well over 6 footers, sigh....some extra height was something ive always wanted as a child. it never really bothered me if someone called me short, it was really just all for me...i liked the extra confidence i got wearing lifts and frankly liked the look. so yeah thats me in a nutshell

oh thanks for dropping by today 12345, sorry i missed yah..the doc informed me at about 10pm.

and a side note...pissing right now is such a task, i hate having to piss in the bottle...not because i miss or anything...its just sooo unnatural to piss laying down..its like my body will not release the pipe...hope i dont get used to it and suddenly wake up with a warm sensation around my legs.
thanks again all, feel free to ask anything.

Hi buddy!

Congratulations on the surgery. I went to your room earlier but didnt find you and then I was worried when the doctor said you were in the ICU. It was 9 something already I think. I will try to visit you in the morning.

Im fresh too but you will get used to things in a day or two. After that it should feel fairly better. The sleeping bit is very annoying but you will have to live with and get used to it for now. Just think positive, take care and hopefully everything will go well.

See you tomorrow!

He Nemesis, welcome to our community.

Smoking is not encouraged as it affects your bone growth and inhibits your immune system, but if you're a real addict, it won't have too much of an impact - being fit and healthy generally is more important... and you should give up smoking anyway, not just for LL Smiley

hey just updating

ummm, ive been sleeping well for now and hope that continues...
mentally you go up and down..probably more down's realising what your doing and worrying about complications.
today i woke up to realise i may have nerve damage on my left calf...since i was touching it and realised a good portion of it is numb and i cant feel it when i touch it...this made me worried...its about 4 to 5 inches in length and 2.5inches wide on the left side of my shin.
so i guess im down today, just worried...sigh.
i'm a coward by nature so things like this really get to me.
ill be seeing the doc tonight, i guess thats all to report.

so i lengthened my 1st millimetre yesterday...and on my left leg, it was one of the worst feelings ive ever come arcoss in my life so far. it was a very strange sensation, a painful sensation. For the rest of the night my left leg hurt quite bad, it was as if when lengthening i could actually feel the tibia slowly moving pulling away....i had the shakes for awhile after it, shakes of fear really. um though the right leg, when lengthened at this point felt nothing at all...the left however is feeling pretty tight at the moment...
the doctor and nurses are from my experience very very pleasant, caring and helpful to me..the head nurse is extremely nice to me and i really appreciate her a great deal.
getting my pins cleaned is no laughing matter....its very difficult for me, i cant describe the sensation i feel when someon touches a certain point on my left shin...i wish i could, but it really makes me cringe...and i think thats the same spot i feel when i lengthen it also. So as you can tell right now my left is the worse leg.
today i also have visa problems...i didnt get a visa. so i am ment to leave before 30 days are up, but now after considering it, i'd much more prefer to stay for the lengthening phase...so i have to cross the border and return...i dont really know what i will do...do that or pay the fine..or just go home to oz.

Hello,
Well done so far, you should try and do every thing you can to stay as long as possible and as close to the dr.  Any thing can go wrong at anytime and you could spend extra months regretting it and fixing it.  I lengthened at home and have totally regretted it.  I will spend alot of extra time getting back to full health let alone just being able to walk.
Good luck with what ever you do,
