Alright, so I thought I'd jump on the documenting process before heading out. I'll be leaving for China tonight, taking the first serious steps toward becoming the person I've always expected to be. I woke with some trepidation today - only one of my friends actually knows why I'm going to China, the rest think it's mostly to pick up the language (well, that as well). The misdirection makes me feel as if I'm doing something shameful, so I'll take this opportunity to elucidate my reasons for the surgery/justify it to some degree. I wish I didn't feel the need to justify anything, but I'm going to be honest in my diary. Anyway:
-I'm somebody that always seeks to become the best I possibly can be
-I see growth, physically and mentally, as an endless process (although my body disagreed at some point)
-I don't view the human body as sacred in its natural state (whatever natural means...)
-While I believe in playing the hand I'm dealt in life, I will do whatever I can to tilt the odds in my favor
-I want to get better in basketball
Haha, I'm not too serious about the basketball one, actually, but I AM starting to mentally prepare myself for the journey ahead. I know it's going to be hard as hell, but I'm ready to kick the ass out of this damn surgery and come home taller, smarter, and better.
Goals for China:
-3 inches
-Develop an ear for Mandarin
-Level 80 on my characters in WoW
-Get through the metric ****-ton of movies and things I put on this hard drive
-Remain as positive as possible
Body stats:
-5'7.5" (about 171.35cm)
-154 pounds
-Generally flexible and physically fit
At any rate, I'm expecting to start up a blog fairly soon to describe my experience, show my changing stats, etc. I already have a new twitter account going, you can check that at:
