Have to say that apartments look nice and clean. However, Beijing hospital rooms are not too bad either and you are constantly in the hospital. I found it very safe and convenient.

I just wanted to thank you for doing your journal- you've been so detailed and extremely helpful to anyone who has asked a question.  Just think, people all across the world have been rooting for you and following along with bated breath haha.  You and Ashjay have been the pioneers of the new class of Indian LLers and your journals have encouraged people to start considering going to India as an option.  I wish you nothing but the best in your final cm of lengthening and consolidation.

Supp Tarnor! I know that doing LL in China is a great choice and that they're efficient and service is great there! However, the cost of doing LL in India is only a fraction of the cost of doing it in China which would dramatically reduce the time waiting before I get to do the operation. Going through crazy's journey has also shed some light on Sparsh hospital and it seems that they too know how to carry out their operations well. With some support like what ReachingLL talked about, I feel we can create a comfortable environment to carry out our lengthening...and let's face it, feeling comfortable is important during the lengthening stage which is why I suspect many of you choose to go to China!

Hi Crazy! First off I wanna congratulate you on achieving 7cm and working your way towards 8cm! Reading all these diaries have really gotten me fired up to do my LL.  Unfortunately due to financial reasons, I was planning to hold it off til 2013.  Initially I was thinking of going to China too but after reading your diary, I see that going to India might be another alternative for me, the costs might also cut my waiting time to 2012 instead of 2013.   I was hoping you could also hook me up with the Doctor's number and email contact so I can work something out with him.  Also, it would be really useful if you could tell me how much you're paying for rent where you're staying now so I can plan out the finances I need before proceeding with the surgery.  

Again, mad props to you for achieving 7cm and gunning for 8! I too am going to attempt to hit 8cm so I stand in between 5'9 and 5'10! Peace brother and good luck with the rest of your journey!

So sorry Crazy I just realized you have included the price of rent with the list of costs of your surgery.  VERY IMPRESSIVE! So down to detail! Wow I must say with that price, I would be able to do my surgery sooner than I thought! I do have a question though, are there any personal physiotherapists in Bangalore that would actually come over to the apartment to aid in stretching, massaging, and exercising the legs? Also I'm assuming your mentioned price of rs 7500 a month for rent is half the cost of actual rent since you are sharing the apartment with a mate? Thanks for the time mate, appreciate it!

Its nice to see so many people turning towards India and my doctor but I would suggest every one to do their own research also.
I am always ready to help.

There is complete physiotherapy department in the hospital and they can provide physiotherapist for you to come at home/residing place. It would cost you around Rs. 200 per day .i.e. $ 5 in US dollars.


Rent for me alone is Rs. 3500/- and the total rent is Rs. 7500/- only.

yes dear ! I am in last hurdle.
The reason with no furniture is that the pics are from the 1st day of acquiring the house.
Nearby the hospital; furnished houses are rarely available; so we purchased almost all required things for us like bed, wheelchair, TV, Mattress, Kitchen items etc.

Not sure how you misunderstood my post.   It seemed pretty straight forward and easy to understand.   If you reported your pain level as high it was never on a day in which you distracted 1mm nor was it on a day after you distracted 1mm.   This is true even if you lengthened 1mm for several days in a row.   Things should be crystal clear now!

I have not misunderstood your post. you are doing mistake of analyzing chart in different way.

The day I had pain; I have not distracted 1 mm and it was always less distraction.
The day I had low pain; I have distracted more like 1 mm.

This is very simple:

Low pain: More distraction
High pain: less distraction


hope you will look it from right angle now and things are crystal clear.

I started this pain chart as an inspiration from Sparsh hospital; they were using pain level chart for us in hospital and now I find it very useful for future LL patients. 

Both you and Ashjay report such minimal pain during LL.  I don't know if this is because your doctor is very good, or if your body adapts very easily, or if the pin placement is done with extreme care, or because your distraction was well planned and carried out, or perhaps a combination of all those things,  

I guess its a combination of right pin placement and body adaption.
A good doctor can only do the right pin placement.
I remember I had almost zero pain in the beginning days after surgery so this is definitely right pin placement thing.

You are in the red (high pain) a bit, but nowhere near a lot of people who lengthen.  I wouldn't worry about your ballerina foot too much, after you hit 8 and stop, your muscles and Achilles will slowly get back to normal with consistent stretching. 

In my view, after going through the entire LL process; avoiding high pain some days is impossible even if everything is in right combination as we discussed above.

And apartment is really nice and clean and I completely agree with you that being constantly in hospital have many advantages over living in apartment.

Yes, he has given slipper to me too.

To be honest slippers etc works only till 4-5 cm lengthening. after 4-5 cm; it is seriously difficult to avoid ballerina foot.

LOL.  This is hilarious. .  Obviously, you are the one who is unable to comprehend the nature of this simple and brainless concept.  This is common sense. .  He is saying that he lengthened more on the days he felt less pain, and lengthened less on the days he felt pain.  You don't IMMEDIATELY feel the pain as you're turning the screws, you feel it after a few days or so.

Even if it seems like you really know what you're doiyng I still want to give you a friendly advise...please don't consider going over 8 cm.(I know you allready said you won't).

I pointed this out in my first post.   Furthermore pain would not remain constant regardless of amount lengthened that particular day it would have varying degrees of fluctuation based on several factors.   Therefore pain level is an overall sense not an immediate sense.   Thank you.
