Thank you. If you get a chance could you please ask Dr. Sarin if he has plans on using it? I would really appreciate it.
I will ask him.

hai,
i have been reading about your diaries, congrats and wish you a speedy recovery. i am also interested in increasing my height as i am 168, i wud like to get 178. can you tel me in which hospital you got your tibia and femur done. i have read about the procedures and the pain and have some knowledge about the procedure, and planning to get an appointment with dr. sarin to evaluate myself and plan things. i would also like to knw whether its ok to do femur or tibia. as you have got both done and wud thr be any physical problem in the later years as the doc wud hve explained you abt the consequences.
I have done my surgery with Dr. Amar Sarin. It is always better to do Tibia with External in terms of comfort.

You mentioned PRECICE could be available in India soon. Did you hear/read anywhere about it? Do you know when it will be available in India?
I've mentioned my opinion about this in another thread, but I'm going to repeat it here because people keep bringing it up. I can't figure out why some people are so gaga over the PRECISE system. It can only lengthen 6.5 cm, and is not full weight bearing. It is a remote controlled internal leg-lengthening device, no more no less. It is not a game changer. It is another way to sit in a wheelchair while lengthening rather than doing what is best for your body - being mobile and walking on crutches or a walker.

I agree with Sysop. PRECICE is not a good alternative.

Hey! I'm india!!
I just discussed to Dr Sarin and he has just said to me that after the frame removal, patient must wear during 5month a protection! What is this fuc* ?? I thought that with LON, after the frame removal patient must wait 1month ( for 4 or 5cm) and it's good he can walk without protection! I can't have a normal life with my friends, my family...if I go home with a protection during 5months!

I have the same question to prabioin too. Where did you hear about it?
well its my personal communication with them where I asked about it and they gave me that reply. So not really possible to tell the exact time frame. The distributor is from New Delhi as they said.

Yes, I also asked them about its full weight bearing capacity and they asked me to consult the doctor about it. Dr Dror Paley has started using it recently (personal communications).

He is just saying that you will have to be careful. If you lengthen 5-6cm, you will only wear external frames for about 2 - 2.5 months. After the nail is locked, you need to be careful for a few months. Do you think that right after lengthening you will be able to walk normal? It takes time to restore Range of Motion and trust me, you will want to be careful for a few months after that. Don't have this idea that you will be able to walk normal right after lengthening that is just not true. As the bone grows, and your muscles get stronger you will gradually ease off crutches and get back to walking soon.

I completely agree. But the reason I am considering PRECICE is because I want to lengthen one leg at a time (and be mobile) and not go beyond 5cm (6.5cm limit is not an issue). The precision/ accuracy in lengthening and painless lengthening are plus.

Are you sure your leg has a 2.5cm discrepency? That is a lot. Was this even before lengthening? Or did this happen after lengthening? Do you know how to test this?
I can tell you more about monorail on the femur because that is how I lengthened my femurs.
yeah its definately 2.5cm discrepancy,i had it digitally measured at the orthopaedic centre here in the U.K. also when i stand up straight you can clearly see that my right foot is on the floor and the left one is completely off the floor, heel and toe ! I think i had a small discrepancy before (max.1cm) but now its 2.5cm so i either had somehow been lengthened more on the right side or i have lost some after frame removal,i remember Mirzoyan retracting my left tibia frame on my last day there to straighten my tibia so maybe he also retracted some mm's,im not sure, but my left tibia is def. a different shape to the right tibia !

Happy new year all the members! Just to say that india is very good place! Everything is sure and clean. Of course it's not like in Fracne but everything is good. Dr Sarin seems to be a very good docteur. For example, I was not very sure to do the surgery, I mean I was not really ready to facon complications if there are, and Dr Sarin never tried to convince me. He said to me that I must take my time to think about it. I don't think all docteurs would have reacted in the same way. Furthermore, he's very knowledge.
Otherwise, about the hospital it's clean too!

Goodness me, are you not worried about your portions? Dont 2 LL surgeries make your arms look shorter and your torso look shorter? O.O

Possibly but proportions are way overrated by some on this site... I would personally rather be taller with a relatively shorter torso/wingspan than be shorter but proportional. It's not nearly as noticeable as you would think. Anyways, Happy New Year Crazy+6 and good luck! 2012 is a big year for me and some of the other people that have been following your diary since last year- it's almost our turn for LL in India (Summer 2012). All the best, my friend!

The hospital looks great Could you tell me how much it costs for the surgery and whether the costs of staying there are included in the package? Thanks!
