The hospital looks great Could you tell me how much it costs for the surgery and whether the costs of staying there are included in the package? Thanks! Dr. Sarin's price is $10k for the surgery itself. This covers treatment of complications. You have to stay in your own place after surgery and get your own food, which Dr. Sarin estimates to be around $1,000 per month.

cant wait to hear your update crazy, i'm planning on a cheap (<20,000 usd)LON so Dr. Sarin in india both sounds perfect for me, along with Dr. chaudry
Dr. Chaudry is not an option according to me. My personal interaction with him was not very good. He is too greedy for money. Crazy+6

Crazy can you remind me your sitting height and wingspan?
I don't believe in Sitting height and I am sure it has been reduced in 1 year of my journey. Although I will answer your question. Before surgery my sitting height was 87 cm and I believe now it is 84 cm. My wingspan on other hand was plus for me. I have wingspan of 168 cm. But to clear the thought- Proportion is just a matter of optical illusion in mind. I have seen enough people in my 8 years of research who are naturally don't match with golden ratio. Crazy+6

Goodness me, are you not worried about your portions? Dont 2 LL surgeries make your arms look shorter and your torso look shorter? O.O
No, I am not worried. Start watching people on road, malls, and in public places - You will change your views about proportion. Till you are able to put your hands inside your pants pockets - you don't have to worry about it. Worry if you have exceptionally short torso - Like torso of a kid. Crazy+6

Possibly but proportions are way overrated by some on this site... I would personally rather be taller with a relatively shorter torso/wingspan than be shorter but proportional. It's not nearly as noticeable as you would think. Anyways, Happy New Year Crazy+6 and good luck! 2012 is a big year for me and some of the other people that have been following your diary since last year- it's almost our turn for LL in India (Summer 2012). All the best, my friend! Happy new year to you too. I wish all of you to fulfill your dream this year. God bless Crazy+6

Hi Crazy,
Can you give us un update about your femur situation:how many cm are you now,how is the range of movement in your knees, can you stand and walk with crutches? Some pictures would be great...
Stay strong!
Hi Plastikman, I will update details later. I am doing good with very less pain and mild discomfort specially in nights. I have 90 degree of range of motion and can sit long hours in wheelchair easily. Even I have started cooking etc in wheelchair. So in terms of ROM- I am fine till now. I am not taking risk of walking as I feel my bones are not strong enough after 1 year of External Illizarov frames in my legs. I don't want any complication of pin shifting etc in my bones. I will post pictures soon. God Bless Crazy+6

External Illizarov only might be less but than who does that if you have option of LON. I will check rates and update here. No problem, you can ask any question here.

Thanks for the awesome reply crazy, sarin is deg within my budget
I have a dilemna. I can either take a 4 month break or an 8 month break from school. I"m planning to lengthen 6.5 cm
With 4 months i could possibly do LON. I'm not sure how long that would take with Dr. Sarin. Its true with LON my frames are off much sooner, but judging by the Beijing diaries i would get my frames off sooner but i would not be able to get back to things in 4 months even with LON, would need at least total 5-6 months including the recovery after frame removal. Regular ilizarov is out of the question.
With 8 months LON is a possibility definately. The only downside is it would feel kind of unfinished with a rod still left in my leg and i would have to go back to Dr. Sarin after a couple years. Regular ilizarov still seems out of the question with 8 months lengthening 6.5 cm, EXCEPT most patients with Dr. Mirzoyan get there frames off within 5-6 months which is pretty cool and i wouldnt have to go back for more surgery it would just be done also hes within my budget.
Budget is 20k, i'm currently in clinical rotations at my med school and i would need to walk a lot when i return.
4 or 8 months break, with 20k, want 6.5 cm, i wanna walk normal by the time i return , what do you think crazy?

Hey Crazy+6, are the monorails for tibias the same price as externals on tibia? I was speaking to a doctor this weekend about monorails vs external fixators and it got me interested lol

Take 8 month break, Do 6.5 cm with LON (I will never advise for external Illizarov only). You will be able to walk without crutches by 8 months. 20 k is good enough if you considering Dr. Sarin. Best of luck Crazy+6

With Dr. Sarin, does he have an age limit? Because I'm only 17. I've stopped growing when I was 16. My growth plates are closed, my bone age is of a 20 year old male. Can you ask him about the age limit? And what price do you think LON for femurs would be for about 5-7cm, and how long do you think it would be? Thanks a lot man.

thanks. I'm about 70/30 for Sarin right now. Mirzoyan just looks so attractive cuz of the 5-6 months with frames only, so just a month or 2 longer than LON without having to have rods in my legs for two years. Even if its 6 or 7 months i would still have at least a month to recover. I know mirzoyans frame removal might be too fast and a little unsafe but still its tempting. I'm gonna read some more LON diaries to see how the rod in leg affects their lives. If they don't even realize its there, then yea LON sounds wonderful. 20k should be enough for LOn with sarin including a place to stay for the duration u think?

I suggest reading about Craig49's experience in Armenia before choosing to go with Mirzoyan. LB is having problems now after surgery with Mirzoyan, too. Other leg lengthening vets, even MMT himself don't rate Mirzoyan highly and it really isn't worth the risk, in my opinion.

I don't think there is any age limit but being a minor - you may have to involve your parents for consent. You can contact him in info@drsarin.inCrazy+6
