Today was a little like war, that's why I choosed that motto of diary.

Wednesday Jan 30th: surgery of right leg, Dr. Jamal put the Bliskunov Nail into my leg. Cannot say much about this day, just sleeping sleeping sleeping. When I woke up, I was always thirsty, but one nice nurse "Vita" was in my room all the time and give me drink when needed.

Jan 31th: almost no pain because of pain injections, biggest pain was a little hickup lol

today: things started badly; nurse comes and doesn't find good place for injection and puts injection system directly under my right hand at the beginning of arm. Jamal later said she did the right thing because not many free areas left. But from that moment i couldnt fully use my right hand which sucks when ur immobile anyway. i am also writing with left hand right now. later jamal comes and doing some heavy exercises with my broken leg, putting it on chair lifting it in different directions etc. i was in such pain that i had to shout!! such pain i dont remember. but he said for all patients first exercises are that painful. later we were doing same exercises after pain killer and this was much easier. then in the evening again same exercises without pain killer and it was ok. i can now sit up straight which was not possible yesterday. tomorrow i shall try walking with the walker.

dr jamal is very nice and comes like 3 times a day. and i can call him on mobilphone 24h/day. still in hospital, will write more when im in appartment in a few days.

I did Internal Femurs with Dr. Jamal in Kiev in 2013.

Starting height: 165,5cm (5'5") Lengthened: 7,5 cm.
Due to long-term complications with bone healing/non-union causing nail breakages I lost some of the gained height in both legs. Final lengthening: probably a little more than 6cm.

If I remember Goman's diary correctly, they do surgery on one leg & then surgery on the other 3-4 weeks later....

Thanks for the diary and initiative, Emmanuel. Somebody has to give it ago with Dr. Dragon. The bliskunov is a very interesting technique. I'll be reading this diary.

Thanks, man!

So are you doing one leg at a time?

No, it's like Tall said. They do only one leg at first so that all those exercises are easier for the patient. For example, when using the walker now, my healthy leg is a big assistance to the broken leg. Also of course pain is much lower with only broken leg. When 2nd surgery will be depends on progress of the right leg. Earliest date is 10 days after first surgery, but I hope it will be later.

I'm optimistic that I'll make a successful LL in Kiev.

today was an interesting day already. In the morning Dr. Jamal visited me for around 3 hours to do some exercises. I did some standing, then walking with walker and then he drived me around in the wheelchair a little. But the abolute best part was that he helped me to do my first shower in 4 days. Before that I was stinking like a pig, you can't imagine  Grin

Later another doctor and 2 technicians came to my room to fix my bed (some technique didnt work and still doesnt). That doctor puts me in wheelchair and drives me out of the room and tells me to bend my right knee so that I can sit in wheelchair normally. I was like "oh no I have my knee totally straight since operation, can't bend it yet." He: "You can, it's very good position for you" Then I bend it a little and say "it's enough" but he bends it more and more almost like my healthy leg! I was in this position like 15-20 min. No big pain, but extremely uncomfortable!

Later, when I told Jamal he wasn't too happy about it. He said that doctor is orthopaedic, but no specialist for limb lengthening and that he pushed me too hard there. Jamal said he would have done such exercise like 2-3 days later.

But whatever, I am fine now. Pain level is low even though I only took one weaker pain killer today. And in the end it probably was a good exercise...

Biggest problem so far is lack of sleep. Last night I got like 2 hours, night before like 4 hours.

Congrats on your journey Emanuel!

You are a true pioneer and your journey with Dr Jamal will be followed closely by many on this forum. For future patients, Dr Jamal's Bliskunov nail can very well become a alternative option for internal femurs & tibias.

When do you start clicking?

Thanks Transformer. Start clicking maybe middle of next week. Actually Dr. Jamal almost clicked today because I was curious about the clicking movement. But after some thought he said "ah lets not push it too early"
All in all I made good progress today. After evening training session with Dr Jamal I can now walk alone with the walker, stand on the ground without touching the walker with my hands and sit down on a chair bending my knee. Thus, I can now also go to toilet alone and dont have to poo into a pan anymore while lying in my bed  Wink

Can't take the hospital food anymore though and for that reason really hope to move to appartment tomorrow. The food here is 3 times mash a day no joke. Who can eat such food for months like Ivan had to in Simferpol can do 6 LL easily.

One info might be interesting for people that are looking for an affordable Internal Tibias option: Dr. Jamal has made his PhD on the internal tibia device that he is using here in Kiev.

Just read Stadiometer's thread. Everything is summed up there pretty well: http://www.makemetaller.org/index.php/topic,5709.0.html

I'll try to post some Pictures in the evening if I manage to  Wink

Ok that is good, hopefully we will get another recommended doctor for internal femur while we see how sarin gets on as well with that.

Alright, I'm gonna give it a shot with IMGUR.

Start with the Hotel "Oberig", where I stayed first 2 days. That hotel is very close to the hospital (walking distance like 50m)

Ukrainian Food can definitely be very tasty!

Hotel Restaurant:

Soljanka (nice east european soup):

This was called "Chicken Kiev" and it was really a nice meal:

On the other hand, food in the hospital is not so good:

Breakfast:

lunch:

In fact that hospital food is the worst I've been eating in my whole life. After leaving the hospital I had stomach problems and still have to take pills to finally solve them. Ivan1989 told me that he had to eat this kind of food for months in Simferopol - incredible..

Some more hospital impressions:

my room (single):

The hospital nurses are extremely helpful and do a great job. But I don't  know if they found the best solution here  Wink:

That injection system directly below my right hand was extremely uncomfortable. I had it for 2 or 3 days.

Above Photo Left to Right: Dr. Jamal & Dr. Dragan (Deceased)

emanuel- I posted this photo to give some reference to members who may not be familiar with Dr. Jamal but might be familiar with Dr. Dragan.  Keep up the great work with all the photos and hopefully you can include some videos of your physical therapy during your lengthening.  I wish you all the best man!

This is just f**king great, man!!!!! f**king great!!! What is your overall opinion about Dr. Jamal, Ukraine, Kiev, your apartment ( it looks pretty f**king great imo). How much does your apartment cost for a month? Is the food nice? Can you trust Loudmilla, the woman who lives with you in the apartment? Do you have to pay some extra cash for having Loudmilla? Would you recommend Dr. Jamal to others? Sorry for the questions buddy, but I'm very excited now.
