Getting back to LIFTS, I thing it's very embarrassing. One time I was consulting a lawyer, and when he got up to shake my hand, I saw those "magic" shoes that make you +5cm taller, and you can clearly see that. EVERYONE knows that you are using one. In those websites they post pictures from an angle that don't seem that bad, but in person looks horrible! There is nothing worst than being short and people noticing that you have issues with that!
The ONLY, and I mean the ONLY place you can use lifts (for a SMALL gain) is in a nightclub. A dark one and crowed, so they don't look at you from distance! Anyway, most people don't go alone in a nightclub, so your FRIENDS will see you have issues!
USING LIFTS WILL MAKE YOU LOOK INSECURE! Don't use it please!

Using lifts is not a permanent or a long-term solution and you may or may not find it justifiable, but I have to disagree with some of what Miknos said. No, not everyone will know you're wearing them. If you are to use those elevator shoes with huge visible soles and tank-like appearance everyone will definitely know, but if you use them with normal shoes the right way no one would.
Using lifts wasn't fun at all. It's frustrating, tiring, and very bad for your feet/legs. But it helped me cover up for my LL operation and spend the lengthening/consolidation period with the people I know with zero problems. Did I live a normal life with them? No, absolutely not. Was it a good move? Yes, absolutely. People thought I gradually grew and I'm having a much easier LL experience socially because of them.
Lifts mean MANY restrictions, incredibly uncomfortable feet/legs, and a bigger desire to be taller. The end is either LL or some serious humiliation. I think they're only OK for several months if you plan to do LL; if you are not going to get permanently taller, forget them. Maybe 1-2 centimeters would be OK if that's the case but If you plan to use more than that permanently you're fighting a lost battle. A very foolish one actually.

I agree. I notice a lot of short/average guys I hang out with always wear dress shoes with heels, boots, or those nike running shoes with air bubble lifts, and they get very uncomfortable when they see me checking out their shoes. My friends/associations that I see regularly are starting to pick up on my foot wear also and it is getting kind of embarrassing because I know they know. I love winter because you can wear lifts in shoes that already have lifts without notice because your wearing pants. I'm getting nervous with summer coming up; I hope this is the last summer I have to go through at this height. I wore lifts last summer and I was constantly paranoid people would see; I'm surprised no one ever noticed. Do any of yall wear lifts with shorts? If so, whats the total height increase (lifts + shoes) that you gain?

I used to wear 1" lifts under my Converses (high tops) with shorts. That way people cant really tell. If you have black lifts, it's really hard to notice when you take off your shoes also. My gf is just as tall as I am so having that extra inch really does help. When she wears high heels though... lol... I just accept that I'm short and move on with it. In the winter I'd stick in an extra layer of Dr. Scholl's comfort inserts. They make walking in lifts a lot more comfy and make your lifts look virtually invisible. Just be sure to buy high top shoes or boots and get a size larger to accommodate for the extra padding.

Sorry but you couldn't be more wrong. When you wear the proper lifts, its impossible for anyone to notice until you have to take them off. I used to wear these hiking shoes that I put lift insoles in them and YES, it do look noticeable. But then I got these dress/casual shoes that look perfectly normal with pants on. They advertsie these as 2.8 inches but I measured them and its more like 2 inches.(so it basically give you 1 inch over people wearing normal shoes). Its like the most comfortable lift shoes I've ever worn. Its properly more comfortable than most regular shoes since it has padding for your heel and palm of your feet. It's getting on my nerves and i know nobody could understands me better than you guys on this forum. Right now i can't convince anybody around me to believe LL is possible and is a viable option.. it's so sad when you're alone fighting this LL battle in the future.

This guy that hangs out with all the same people I do just found out I wear lifts (long story). We have never got along, and I am pretty sure he is telling all my friends and acquaintances, but they all know its really embarrassing for me so no one says anything. Hes like 6'2 and is an egotistical ba***rd and just loves making my life miserable in any way possible. Its horrible because I am too embarrassed to go out socially now.... I feel like everyone is laughing at me. I really don't know what to do; I hate this kid. Any of yall ever had experience with something like this?

That's exactly why lifts suck - although once you took off your lifts she took off her high heels, the differential may have been the same, but it's a confidence thing. Lifts are like Kryptonite eventually - your secret weakness!

Really sorry to hear about this. It is the problem with lifts - they always screw you up and make things worse in the end. I didn't use them much, but once or twice I came close to being caught out when going to people's houses and stuff. Lifts really a deadly...

wow i don't understand ... Is that the fear of her seeing you 3 cm less than you appear to be, or the embarrassment of being shorter than a girl ?? Because for the second thing, I can't really understand it for myself, I always found it is kind of exciting to date a taller girl than me, though now it s probably going to be rare

I know that I could even confess to wearing lifts and she would still want to shower with me but I just feel like an ass...oh well, ill figure it out. Pr

I have to admit that I'm barely aware that I'm wearing lifts. Maybe I just have extremely comfortable ones? But I certainly don't feel like a fake. If girls can wear make up, high heels, etc to make themselves "more attractive"... well then I can wear shoes that give me an extra inch or two. That said... nobody wants Clark Kent

First, how did he find out? Because was it an invasion of privacy? Second, I think I might work with his 'Identical Twin'. Third, you will survive this. Fourth, resist the hate somehow, it's no good man. This can be liberating and good time to be who you are. Continue to do the things you know are right. It is humiliating, but you're not doing anything wrong. He would do this to an LLer. He is the one that is wrong to knowingly embarrass you. He is wrong to try and ostracise you from your friends and community. Your true friends should recognize this and not want to hear him defame you. Depression has been described like a piling on until one collapses under the pressure. So one by one you need to eliminate the things that bother you until you reach a level that you can handle. Each stress reduction makes you better, stronger, thinking clearer, focused, goal oriented and an achiever again. Hey you've been knocked down. You only have one way to go, up. And all of us at MMT of course. Time does heal wounds. Brother11

I disagree with the comparison of high heels and lifts. High heels are visible, lifts aren't. First are an obvious and apparent height boost, the latter is cheating.
That's why people wearing lifts will never have enough confidence to face people like the 6'2 idiot. In fact you are just asking for problems. But that's my opinion.
I do wear high heeled boots, for everyone to see. When someone asks me on rare occasions if I have some insecurities I reply: 'Yes, why? Is that a problem for you?' In a way that no one ever goes further.
Do not let your height control you. Thanks god for LL, though. I wish for everyone to tower above people who made fun of them all their lives for the rest of their lives. But don't return the remarks, be the bigger man.

I got my lifts last wednesday and I think theyīre great I mostly wear them in my new work where nobody ever knew me before. The first day I walked around the block and I think theīre rather comfortable really. I bought +9cm. Thats almost 3.5 inches I belive. But when I measured myself without the shoes I am 173 and with them on I am only 180 but thats a whole new experience for me. I brushed my teeth with them on and EVERYTHING seemd wrong for some reason. I had to bent down to reach for the toothpaste(it was in the sink). I have never done that before in my life. Such a little thing made such a difference and i laughed a bit. If anyone founds out.... well. I could say that it is to correct my bow legs I now belive I have from reading a diary here. I donīt really care for theese things. I always mind my own business and if someone else should do theese things I always encourage them and ask questions because I am interested in it. One guy(my friends friend) lost his hair and had a surgery in Lund here in Sweden at the same place John Travolta had his surgery to get his hair back and I just HAD to know all about it. Then he seemed troubled and disturbed and didīnt say anything because maybe he was embarrassed. But when the others left the room, THEN he opened up for me and told me all about it. Now with lifts on I cant wait to do the OP!

Some pictures of Sarkozy. I think he uses lifts. When I see the top part of the feet standing out like that, usually I think there's some lifts "hidden". And another funny picture showing the point I discussed in this same post. He is trying to look taller, showing he has "issues". In MY CASE, I prefer to look shorter in the picture, than somebody "catching me" doing that. Small observation: My sister and my ex-girlfriend (they didn't knew each other) used to move a little down when taking pictures with me. In my sister's case, she was trying to make me look better (or let's say normal) in the picture. But in my girlfriend's case, maybe she was embarrassed? When you see pictures of Pierce Brosnan, you can see he feels embarrassed of his wife: I'm a small guy, so I cannot "handle" a woman this size. AND if I could, probably I would keep her hidden away from family/friends and even my dog! Can't remember who was, but I red a very interesting thought here. Being short to woman, is the same as being a 150kg woman to the opposite sex. Maybe he is happy with her, but feels a little embarrassed to go in public (what people thinks)? Sometimes a keep thinking.........Am I a bastard for thinking this way, maintaining prejudice?
