I make 4 and 5 inch Boots, but only because of the demand for them. I make them in the military boot style so they can be strapped to the ankle and leg and so they still look normal.

The Taller the insert the harder to make. sob sob.

Anyways. Do you think a man can get away wearing The ladies wedge sneakers below? ( they are about 4 inches inside I would say) Its hard to have the best of both world and to still make the shoe look normal.

Here is what I made. and that only has 3 inches inside.

I never saw the point of wearing lifts or elevator shoes, as soon as you take them off, you'll feel short again. It's a temporary escape. It's better to walk around in flats or sandals as a reminder and a drive to make that escape permanent with LL.

Don's is a great brand and makes some quality shoes. I've worn them before and they were honestly the most comfortable elevator shoes I've ever had.

I understand the point that you are short once you take them off. However, for those moments when I'm at business meetings etc, I don't leave home w/o my elevator shoes.

Hello, I am new to this website and was wondering if there are any other Australians out there who are considering or have already undergone LL surgery? I understand you cannot get it done for cosmetic reasons here in Australia and have to travel over seas to find a surgeon that will operate.

Been wearing 2'' lifts for around a year now; never leave the house without them :P I know some people might find that a little sad, but the confidence boost makes it worth it for me.  All my mates know I wear them and I'm cool with that; they make the odd crack at them every now and again but that's what mates are for Wink

Yup, Aussie over here :) Won't be getting it done for a quite while (about to start raising the money), but once that's sorted I'll be up with Dr.  Xia

I bought my shoes from www. tallmenshoes. com
I have the TOTO - A8301 - 2. 8 Inches Taller (Black)
They are very nice looking for office work professional look.
They are suppose to make you 2. 8 inches taller but like you guys said, it includes the heels plus minus for the compression.
I am 5'4 and am 5' 6" with the shoes on.  They are nice looking and pretty comfortable so I wear them to work with my dress pants.
The only bad side to it is that my dress pants almost always cling on to the back of the shoes so I always have to be worried about it.  ::)
I tried longer and shorter hem's on my pants and it still does the same.  It is better with a wider dress pants but then I look shorter if I wear baggy clothes.
Does this happen to anyone else?
I'm not embarrassed to be short at all.  I may get a little depressed at times at peoples short remarks and jokes but I try to brush them off and will retaliate with my LL when I come back taller than they are. (Cause and effect)
I would be embarrassed if someone found out I had lifts on! lol

I'm 5' 4. 25" and my goal(my dream) is to be 5' 7" with LL.  Then I will be 5' 8" with shoes.  My winspan is 5' 9".

on those shoes you should be 5 5.5", they make you 1.5" taller than regular shoes.

you need to try the advertised 4" ones they sell on tallmenshoes as trainers CALDEN - K33291, they just released them so i hope to give them ago, they should make you 2.5" taller, it helps disguise yourself more because people don't even see a formal wear heel, going further down on the radar:)

if you want formal go donsfootwear vercelli, it is the only make i have seen that offer an advertised 4" that looks good.

yeah you need boot cut or relaxed jeans to wear these, otherwise the back heel shoes, yes even on the 1.5" heel lifts, making straight cut jeans longer doesn't help because they are not wide enough to cover the heel and the mid front of the shoe as the shoe is just generally BIGGER than regular shoes.

I'm 5 4.5" as well, I hope to get to 5 6.5" with one LL surgery in the next few years.

TallerSoon: The only bad side to it is that my dress pants almost always cling on to the back of the shoes so I always have to be worried about it.

I so know what you mean! I used to wear suits to work everyday and I hated it when my pants would get stuck in the boot! Not a good look.

You have this stuff down to a science my friend!

When I first got them I wore about 3inches in my shoes.  It was very uncomfortable and hard to walk in, but I endured it.
I wear shoes like these:

I always sized up short people, but everytime I did with the lifts, I just felt more sad because I also picture myself without them and compare the differences.  So now I only wear an inch.
Height without shoes (night) - 5'3" (160cm).  Height with lifts - 5'5" (165cm).
A few girls from my school commented on my late growth spurt LOL.  A week later I stop wearing lifts and it seems like they've lost interest in me again.

Wow, look at these: http://www.tallmenshoes.com/elevator-shoes-k511615.html

5.2 inches taller - seems like an instant way to experience life after LL

i have those, PLEASE understand they make you 3 inches taller than a regular pair of shoes, the advertised gain isn't the actual gain due to your weight.

also i recommend donsfootwear fossato boots, don't buy those ones they are cheap, and since these are 3.0 inch lifts you walk very strange and you can't wear those boots inside.

I would stick with these

http://www.tallmenshoes.com/elevator-shoes-k33291.html - 2.5" increase

or these

http://www.tallmenshoes.com/f19723.html - 1.5" increase.

AsTall is on point here. One does not get the advertised height because of the way the foot is positioned inside the shoe, and the decompression of body weight. Also, I can tell you from experience that you don't want to choose too high of a shoe as it will totally throw off your gait.

I'm 5'6'' tall.  Got my first lifts yesterday, from tallmenshoes. com, standing 5'9'' with them.  The treatment that I now get from people is a lot friendlier than before.  Not as good as some 6'0'' would get, but way better than 5'6''.  I'm also considering LL surgery within the next few years.  Height equals money :-)

@Ciekiu - Congratulations on  your purchase. I can still remember how good I felt when I laced up my first pair of elevator shoes. I must admonish you to be careful. You may get drunk on height and want to try out shoes with even bigger lifts!  Wink

yes everyone treats you differently taller, i once wore the 3 inch ones (advertised 5.2") boots from tallmenshoes.

everyone at work was surprised by my height gain and was very reactive over me gaining 3 full inches over night!

everyone treat me different going from 5 4.5 > 5 7.5

I wear lifts when im out and about.  The lifts themselves only add 3cm plus the thickness of the shoe sole im at least 5cm taller and it always feels great.

I think a LL increase of 5cm and id be happy enough which would put me at 180cm but id probably get greedy and want 7cm and say im 6ft (well, 1cm off hehe)
