This is the poll for WOMEN - please see the other thread for MEN. Please select your current height so that we have a proper survey of the heights of the women in our community. You can only see the results once you vote Cheers, MMT

So far (based on a few responses) the bell for women seems to be formed around the 5'0" mark, which is consistent my expectations, and experiences of meeting women who have done or want to do LL.

I'd like to ask why some of you want to be taller than say 5'4? I've seen some women on this board wanting to be 5'10.. i don't think most men find women that tall particularly attractive. I think you are more likely hurting your chances with the opposite sex by going taller. So what's the motivation for wanting such height increase?

It would be interesting to see a thread for women on their goal height and what they think the ideal height is. However, around 5'10 is the perfect model height - just tall enough to be significant yet as short as possible to decrease chances of being the dominant of the sexes. You must also realize that the ideal male height for women and men is likely around 6'0"-6'4", so they don't hurt the chances for the ideal range even though the average height is less. They don't want average if they don't have to have it, and that is not difficult to understand. It only becomes more complicated when the average is the ideal range, in which case your point would have less merit than it does. It's all about ideal and average ranges.

And that is understandable because of the practicality considering your current height of 4'8". Though, if you calculate your sitting height and arm span you will be able to do the math to let you know if you can practically lengthen your legs more than 4 inches to 5'0" towards 6+ inches to 5'2" or more in context with average statistics. But, the point I was making in regards to shrimp is that since around 5'10" is ideal then any woman who could practically attain that height is likely to want it.

5'10 may be ideal for magazines but not for life, men generally prefer women in the 5'2-5'6 range. (don't make me go digging for studies)

Studies would help the validity of your range. But what's more important is that our points are not mutually exclusive unless you want to discuss ranges. My point is the difference between ideal and average, which is tied to preferences that you initially addressed and practicality that I pointed out. While I prefer a full package of brain and looks, I would certainly prefer a 5'10 woman and the fact that they tend to be in magazines more than any other height lends credence to the idea that most would. Likewise, these women are likely interested in men taller than them without care for the larger dating pool of men of equal or less height ... which gives you the answer you were initially curious about.

And I'd prefer women on the shorter spectrum, too bad neither of us is a proper sample. Among guys I know, all would go for the under 5'6 crowd, given the choice. I'd love to see a study of male preference for ideal female height though. I'd bet ten bucks it'll be under 5'8 for sure, probably 5'6.

I'd love to see a study of male preference for ideal female height though. I'd bet ten bucks it'll be under 5'8 for sure, probably 5'6. You have to keep in mind that the study would have to discount bias. In order to discount bias, the study would have to be incredibly elaborate or the study would have to simply be compared to another study or other studies on order to be complete. It's all about ranges and psychology. I'd like a woman 5'10" to 6'0". Not only is the woman more physically appealing to me, but she is more appealing from a genetic perspective since I'd want my kids to be naturally tall. However, I'd also want to be at least 6'0" to be with her and she'd likely want me to be of that height as well. Most guys want women the same height or more often shorter than them (and the proportional inverse for the women), genetics be damned and Cosmetic Limb Lengthening aside. Therefore, it is likely that among shorter populations of men, they would prefer shorter women regardless of ideals. This bias would have to be counted for in any study that was not misleading.

Men would normally specify their height when compared to their own, 4-6 inches shorter than themselves for example. There would be nothing particularly difficult about making a survey of a few hundred men, asking their preferred height offset and their own height. The result would yield both the offset and the overall desired average for women.

Ive found the women im most attracted to are those around 6inches shorter than me. Which is quite rare anywhere esp in the UK, seeing as im only 5'6 or 5'7 with lifts. Peace Pr
